Specialized Turbo Levo 4 (2025-) — PPF Frame Protection | Tectora Bike Protection

Jun 16, 2026

The Specialized Turbo Levo 4 is the fourth generation of one of the best-selling e-MTBs in the world. The new Specialized 3.1 motor delivers 101 N·m and 666 W of peak power on standard versions, while the S-Works version goes up to 111 N·m and 720 W. The removable 840 Wh battery slides out from the left side of the down tube, and the SWAT storage compartment inside the frame adds practicality no other e-MTB in this class can match. The carbon frame is identical across all versions — from Comp to S-Works. That's why at BikeProtection we developed a PPF kit that fits every version of the Turbo Levo 4.

Why does the Specialized Turbo Levo 4 need frame protection?

The Turbo Levo 4 weighs 23–24 kg — it's a powerful machine built for demanding trail and enduro terrain. The down tube, chainstays, and rear triangle are exposed to rock strikes, mud, and abrasion on every ride. The painted battery cover on the left side of the down tube is a large exposed surface directly in the line of gravel spray from the front wheel. On a carbon frame starting at €7,000 and above, every chip is unnecessary damage.

Transport is another specific threat — a large and heavy e-MTB catches on car bodywork or roof racks easily during loading. Without protection, it shows on the paint immediately.

What Specialized thought of — and what Tectora adds

The Specialized Turbo Levo 4 comes from the factory with an original protective film in two locations — on the underside strip of the down tube and on the seat tube. These are the spots Specialized identified as highest risk and protected directly from the factory.

The Tectora (STEK PPF) kit from BikeProtection is designed to respect and seamlessly connect to these factory-protected zones — it doesn't overlap or go underneath them. The rest of the frame that Specialized left unprotected is covered by our kit:

— Front and side surface of the down tube — rock strike zone, directly adjacent to the factory film
— Painted battery cover (left side of the down tube) — removable battery, painted panel fully protected
— Top tube including the Mastermind TCU display zone — handlebar contact during transport
— Chainstays — chain slap, mud abrasion, foot contact
— Rear triangle — coverage of stays and pivot surrounds
— Cable exit ports — protection from wear from the very first ride

The Tectora film is 208 microns thick with a self-healing top coat — light scratches disappear with gentle heat from a hair dryer. Available in matte and gloss to match your frame's finish.

Tectora PPF vs rubber frame protectors — which is better for the Turbo Levo 4?

Rubber guards cover the chainstays. Tectora STEK PPF covers the entire frame. On the Turbo Levo 4, the painted battery cover on the left side of the down tube is too large and too exposed to leave unprotected — rubber patches don't cover the necessary surface area and look wrong on a premium carbon frame. Tectora film is invisible at riding distance, doesn't trap grit underneath, and won't peel at the edges after a wet season. The self-healing layer takes care of minor scuffs on its own.

How to apply the Tectora (STEK PPF) kit on the Specialized Turbo Levo 4?

The kit uses a wet application method — no specialist tools, no professional installer required. Clean the frame with isopropyl alcohol, wet both the frame surface and the film backing, slide each pre-labelled piece into position, squeegee out the water and leave to cure. Apply the hair dryer only at the very end to seal the edges. Total installation time: 3–4 hours — the Turbo Levo 4 comes with factory protective film in two locations that our Tectora kit connects to seamlessly. This requires more careful alignment during application. From experience, the factory film is sometimes applied slightly off-centre — in that case, allow extra time to fit the Tectora pieces precisely around the factory film edges. Each piece is pre-cut and labelled specifically for the Turbo Levo 4. A full step-by-step video guide is available here:

Frequently asked questions

Is PPF frame protection worth it for the Specialized Turbo Levo 4? Yes. Most of the Turbo Levo 4 frame has no factory protection — Specialized only protected the underside strip of the down tube and the seat tube. The rest of the carbon is fully exposed. The Tectora (STEK PPF) kit from BikeProtection costs €105 and carries a 10-year guarantee against yellowing and cracking.

Does the Tectora kit cover the factory film already on the Turbo Levo 4? No — the Tectora (STEK PPF) kit from BikeProtection is designed to respect and work around the factory film on the down tube underside and seat tube. The factory protection stays untouched. Our kit covers the rest of the frame including the painted battery cover on the left side of the down tube.

Does the Tectora kit fit all versions of the Turbo Levo 4 — including S-Works? Yes. All Turbo Levo 4 versions — Comp, Pro, Expert and S-Works — share the same carbon frame with identical geometry. The Tectora (STEK PPF) kit from BikeProtection fits all of them.

The Specialized Turbo Levo 4 is the result of a decade of e-MTB development — a fourth generation that raises the bar for both performance and practicality. One Tectora (STEK PPF) kit from BikeProtection, applied once before the first ride, and the carbon looks new even after hundreds of trail kilometres.
